Snowpeak Springs

The idea for this project was to create a detailed diorama of a ski village that gives off the feel of a product being promoted on 90’s and early 2000’s public access television. The highly detailed textures and models, coupled with the diorama sitting on a lone wooden table in a black room, really succeed in capturing that specific feeling of a Bob Ross episode.

More technical details are provided further down.

All modeling and simple texturing was done in Maya, while all complex texturing was done in Substance Painter 3D. All of the video editing, however, was done in Adobe After Effects. All models are poly modeled using a combination of extrusion based modeling and vertex welding. In addition to a deliberate effort to have proper, clean and supported topology, all UVs are properly unwrapped and laid out. This project, in its entirety, was completed over the span of 4 days.
